Motherhood the Musical 12th March – 8pm
Motherhood the Musical is a hilarious, musical journey about the lives of four mums. There's Barb, the over-worked, underpaid, stressed-out mother of five.  Brooke is a lawyer, who works too much and barely sees her kids.  Trisha’s a single mum who’s struggling to juggle it all and Amy is the naive 20-something about to have her first child.
As the three friends throw Amy a baby shower, the truth about motherhood (the good, the bad and the ugly) all come out into the open: the nappies, the dirty laundry, the lazy husbands, juggling the demands of children and a career and everything in between.

Menopause the Musical 17th May – 8pm
Inspired by a hot flush and a bottle of wine, Jeanie Linders created Menopause The Musical® as a celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle, or have survived ‘The Change'.
Set in a department store, four women (Soap Star, Dubbo Housewife, Power Woman and Earth Mother) with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra meet by chance at a lingerie sale. They quickly bond and make fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these diverse women as they realise that menopause is no longer the silent passage!

History of Cummins Theatre

Cummins Theatre is a heritage-listed theatre located in the wheatbelt town of Merredin, approximately 257kms east of Perth. The Theatre has been a proud fixture in Merredin’s cultural programming since it was relocated to the town from Coolgardie in 1927. Originally a picture Theatre, Cummins Theatre was one of the first venues to show “talking” pictures in the Commonwealth, and for many years was considered state of the art in its field.

Cummins Theatre ceased operation as a movie theatre in 1966, and in 1974 became a dedicated home to the Merredin Repertory Club. The amateur Theatre Company continues to stage increasingly popular productions at the Theatre to this day, and Cummins Theatre has also welcomed the recently established Merredin Music Club to its list of patrons.

Many accomplished Australian and International acts and artists have walked the boards at Cummins Theatre over the years, including Slim Dusty, AC/DC, WASO and Lano and Woodley to name a few. Collections from our guestbooks are available for viewing at the Theatre upon request, in addition to our extensive collection of Tour posters. Informal tours may also be booked by prior arrangement with the Theatre Manager.

Today Cummins Theatre hosts a number of performing arts events, from music to dance and live theatre. The theatre is also available for private and non-commercial hire, and is a popular venue for weddings, balls, meetings, seminars and a host of other functions. If you would like any more information on any aspect of Cummins Theatre, please follow the links within this website, or feel free to contact the Theatre Manager
