On Saturday 21 May at 7pm, Black Swan State Theatre Company is broadcasting a live performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream from Perth’s new State Theatre Centre of WA to regional and metro venues around WA.

Using a huge cast of 17 WA actors, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most loved comedies, as it weaves stories of love and longing, magic and mayhem together into a perennial audience favourite. This quintessential romantic comedy is a great way to introduce children and adults to a Shakespeare that will get them laughing.

The live performance at the State Theatre Centre of WA will be captured using six cameras and some 25 microphones, and broadcast in real time to the venues via satellite. The broadcast will include a pre-performance talk in Esperance, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton and Armadale, and every venue will feature behind-the-scenes footage before the show. The regional simulcasts are free events, but we recommend that you book your tickets before the performance date in order to secure your seats!
